Who runs this site
VOOCalculator.com is owned and operated by Umer Farooq, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree and built this site to make compound-growth math easier to explore for everyday investors. I am not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or accounting firm, and nothing here is a personal financial, tax, or legal recommendation. My job is to build tools that do the arithmetic correctly and explain the assumptions clearly — not to tell you what to do with your money.

Why “VOO” appears on this site
VOO is the ticker for the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF, a fund managed by The Vanguard Group. “S&P 500” is a trademark of S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC. We reference both names only to describe what our calculators model — a hypothetical investment tracking that specific fund — the same way a mortgage site would reference “30-year fixed” without being a bank. Using the name doesn’t mean Vanguard reviewed, approved, or contributed to anything on this site. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
How our numbers work — and where they fall short
Our calculators take the inputs you provide (starting balance, contribution amount, time horizon, an assumed rate of return) and run standard compound-growth math on them. Where we show VOO’s historical performance, we pull that data from publicly available sources and refresh it periodically — not in real time.
A few limitations worth knowing before you act on a projection:
- A projection is only as good as the assumed return you enter. Real markets don’t move in a straight line, and a single average rate can hide years of volatility.
- Our default calculations don’t subtract taxes, brokerage fees, or fund expenses unless a field specifically says it does. Add your own estimates for those if you want a realistic take-home number.
- Inflation is only reflected where a calculator explicitly has an inflation input.
- Historical returns describe the past. VOO — like any equity fund — can lose value, and past performance is not a reliable guide to what happens next.
Data accuracy
We make a genuine effort to keep reference figures (price, yield, expense ratio, historical returns) accurate and to note when they were last updated. Even so, markets move faster than any website can, so treat these numbers as directional, not real-time. Before making a decision, confirm current figures with Vanguard or your own brokerage statement.
No advisory relationship
Using this site — including entering numbers into a calculator or reading an article — doesn’t create a client, advisory, or fiduciary relationship between you and VOOCalculator.com. We don’t know your income, your other holdings, your risk tolerance, or your goals, so nothing we publish is tailored to your situation. If you need advice that accounts for your specific circumstances, talk to a licensed financial advisor, CPA, or attorney.
